Late Summer/Harves
An overlooked "Season" in modern times, the harvest was crucial to surviving successfully through the winter. This is when we literally realize the fruits of our labor and harvest our food. Our great mother earth will provide all the nourishment we need from an abundant harvest.
Are you feeling nourished, nurtured and full? Most importantly in your spirit?
When we are lacking an internal harvest we will experience feelings of lacking and nonfulfillment. We may excessively worry and never feel satisfied. The earth element represents the health of our stomach, spleen and pancreas.
Obsessive worry, physically poor digestion, edema and eating disorders are commonly associated with some earth imbalance.
It is essential to have your energy tune-up with the Seasonal shifts.
Always be grateful for the abundance we receive daily from our food. Eat with joy and happiness in your heart as this will help your digestion. Chew your food thoroughly.

Squash Soup Recipe
Super nutritious squash or pumpkins make excellent seasonal soups. Orange and yellow foods are healing for the Earth element.
In a large soup pot add:
2 Tbls. Tamari or Bragg's liquid Amino
1 Tbls. organic coconut oil
1 large onion minced
1 clove garlic minced
2 tsp. fresh minced ginger
1 tsp. unrefined toasted sesame oil
Saute all until soft
Peel and cut into cubes a whole butternut squash or a small pie pumpkin.
Add squash/pumpkin to pan. Add 6 cups vegetable stock or water. Let simmer on low until squash is soft.
Remove from heat and let cool for 30 minutes and add 1 can of coconut milk.
Add mixture to a blender or use a hand blender to make into a creamy soup.
Serve with fresh cilantro sprigs. Option: 1-2 Tbls Thai curry paste.
